"Jump" Layout

Good day to all my friends!! I had a rather "painful" week. My migraine acted up again!!!! So painful and torturing!!! Prayed that I will be healed!!!!

Anyway, want to share a layout today. I scraplift the design from a picture that I saw in goggle search!! Wanted to do a simple and fun layout for my son. This photo of him jumping is taken in Sydney 2 years ago.

"Jump" Layout

I used "Summer Fresh" collection by Simple Stories for the entire layout. Loved the fun and cheery colors of this collection. And I'm so in love with the denim and the burlap patterns. So I couldn't help but add the real burlap pieces into the design. This layout is considered as a clean layout for me as I didn't "dress up" the background at all.

I took cue from the original design of this collection and layered my own strips of papers to create this look. The sentiment "fun in the sun" is also taken from the sticker sheet of this collection. Added a strip of burlap here.

I cut burlap into triangles to make the sun. And I used this sun as the journalling tag. Foam strip was also added to give the dimensional effect. Recently I discovered that I love to pop some elements up. So in love with the foam strip by Scrapbook Adhesives!!!

This "medal" sticker from same collection is just perfect to describe this day!! See how my son enjoys his trip to Sydney. How I wish I can go travel again soon!!! Love the cooling weather, the beautiful architectures and sceneries!!

Well, hope I can share more with you all next time. Have a fun week. Do stop by My Little Shoebox and Frosted Designs for some inspirations!!! And not to mention, my 3rd Blog Candy. Thanks for visiting!!

"Handsome Little Man" layout

Thank God its Saturday today!!! A time to relax and spend time with family. Just brought our kids to swimming!! Had a fun time seeing them play around in the cooling waters. Singapore is so hot at this period of the year!!!!

Yesterday, I did mention that I will be sharing some projects this few days. Had been doing a few layouts the past week. And today I just want to share one that I did for my son during our Cameron Highlands trip last year!!

And I entered this masculine layout for a recipe challenge organised by a local scrapbook group at facebook. The recipe challenge requires the following 7 must-have-elements in our submission project:
1) White base pattern paper/cardstock
2) Banners
3) Flowers
4) Dollies
5) Washi tapes
6) Decorative punching of paper edge
7) Tag

"Handsome Little Man"

I used Pink Paislee Mistable paper as the base, sprayed some glimmer mists to bring out the resist patterns. Then I mixed fiber paste with glass bead gel and spread across the Crafter's Workshop clocks stencil to create the few clocks in the background. I love mixing the different mediums to my project!! I used 3 washi tapes for the borders below the photo and on top of page and on the tags. The flowers are Prima resist canvas inked with distress inks. The circular title is cut from Silhouette Cameo, my latest acquisition.

And the close-ups: here you can see the fiber paste/glass bead gel mixture more clearly. I love the texture and dimensional effect it gave.

The hexagon banners are cut out from My Mind's Eye papers and inked with distress inks. I put eyelets to thread through and tied the banners to. The wooden car is by Studio Calico (to show that we drove to Cameron Highlands).

I love this photo of my adorable son. Thanks to my talented brother who took this shot. My son is actually enjoying his chocolate cake at the Cameron Highlands Tea Plantation cafe. I love this place!!! So beautiful with the green tea mountains and the mist!!! And of course, fresher air!!

I hope you like this layout!! And do try out the fiber paste and glass bead gel mixture on your projects!! I used Golden brand mediums. I hope to share more projects with you all again in the coming week!! Do stay tune!! And thanks for visiting!!

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge - Patterned Paper Only

Hi, its been awhile since I posted my last project. Been quite busy lately. Time passes so fast. This week at Frosted Designs, we challenge you to use only patterned papers for your projects (strictly no cardstock). You can still use other embellishments. And this week's sponsor is Boys Rule Kits

And here's my take on the challenge:

Altered Prima Canvas Cover

I cut out the flowers from Echo Park papers and layered them to form the dimensional flowers. I also punched out butterflies from Melissa Frances paper. One of my favourite styles is adding glimmer mists. So for the cover, I sprayed with Tattered Angels glimmer mists and using distress inks to bring out the resist pattern of the Prima canvas cover. And again, this is done with my favourite colour combo: Pink, Teal/Aqua Blue/Turqouise (almost the same to me) and brown. I also added some pearls randomly across the cover. Inside the album is papers from same collection. I intend to use this album as my DIY smash book.

I also added some Prima resist canvas flowers and inked them with distress inks. Also added some Prima felt leaves. And below are some close ups:

I love the resist patterns. For the butterflies, I inked the edges with distress ink and added some glitter.

I popped up the "inner parts" of the flower cut-outs and added glitter too.

I hope you like my project. So do hop over to Frosted Designs to join in our challenge for the week. Have a fun week and I got some more projects that I would like to share with you in the next few days.

Thanks for dropping by. And do join in my 3rd Blog Candy too. Have fun!!

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge - Washi Tape

Its Fabulous Friday again!! This week at Frosted Designs, we are challenging you to use washi tape or masking tape for your projects. You can use ready made washi tape or DIY ones. Its such fun and easy to use these tapes to beautify your creations. And this week's sponsor is My Little Shoebox. Do hop over to Frosted Designs to join in the challenge and to My Little Shoebox to see their yummilicious new Summer 2012 collections.

And here's my take on the washi tape challenge:

"DIY Stickers" Glass Jar and Candy Gift Box
I DIY my own washi tape. Do drop by Frosted Designs on Sunday too as I will be sharing a tutorial on how to make your own washi tape. I used my DIY washi tape on the glass jar and the window of the candy gift box. Loved the translucent look of them. I used the glass jar to store my DIY stickers using papers from My Little Shoebox.

For the lid of the jar, I also used washi tape (ready made) to make into a flower.

The yellow flowery washi tape on the jar is the DIY washi tape using adhesive tape and My Little Shoebox paper. Then I used another ready made washi tape as a border.

I made this candy gift box using the latest Sizzix die. The window was made by adhering the DIY washi tape unto a transparency. Loved the flowery and transparent window. I can't wait to make more of this gift box for my kids' birthday parties. Its such fun!!

So do join in the fun at Frosted Designs. And do stay tune for Sunday's tutorial on DIY washi tape.
Thanks for stopping by!!

Party Tags!!!

Hi, friends!! Today I want to share 2 tags that I made for scrap parties organised by my friend, Elaine. One is for a past party and one for today's party. Love the scrap parties. Thanks to Elaine who organised them that I met up and made friends with alot of scrappy friends. A common passion, a common hobby!!! So fun!!

For the party, we must make a tag to hang around the neck. The tag we make is not for our own but we need to draw one from others. After we got the tag, we put our name tag on it (kindly made by Elaine). So fun!!

Here's my first tag for the first party (past):

Shabby Chic tag: front
 Shabby chic tag: back

And for the second tag for today's party, I experimented with Tattered Angels stained glass medium on acrylic. Sprayed some Dylusions spray inks on the flower clusters too. But might have gone overboard with them. ha ha..

Loved the TA stained glass medium. And of course love the parties!!! Had a chit chat session, crafting session, photography tips session and of course, "makan" (eating) session!!! A group of women chatting is just like a market!!!! ha ha... But oh such fun!!! Look forward to next party!!

Thanks for visiting!!
