Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge - Embossing

Aloha!!!!! Hi, friends!!! Today at Frosted Designs, we challenge you to incorporate embossing in your projects. All kinds of embossing are welcome, be it dry embossing, heat embossing, "DIY" embossing, pre-embossed products etc.

"Vintage Doily" Card

I made a card for this challenge. I used My Little Shoebox latest doily stamp. I love it!!! So pretty and girly, just what I like. With a vintage color palette in the background, I can turn it to a vintage sweet look.

I embossed the doily with white embossing powder. Then inked the cardstock with distress inks, sprinkled water for the water distressed look. Love it to bits!!!! I matched the embossed cardstock with My Little Shoebox's Vintage Shop papers. They are perfect match with the vintage color palette.

Made this in mind for a dear friend too!! Hope she like it!!!

Do join in this challenge at Frosted Designs. Have a fun week!!

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge - Journal Cards

Hi, everyone. This week at Frosted Designs, we are challenging you to use Journal Cards for your projects. You must use one or more journal cards in your cards, layouts, altered arts, off the page projects etc.

*Note: If you are dropping by for My Little Shoebox & Unity Stamp Co Blog Hop, please scroll down to the previous post. Have fun hopping.*

For this challenge, I made a mini album out of the journalling cards to document my recent family picnic.

"Botanic Garden" Mini Album

I adhered 3 sides of the journalling cards to make a pocket for tags. The tags serve as more journalling spots and for more photos. Also added file tabs to the opening of the pockets. I love the Studio Calico wood veneers!!!

Don't you just love the camera wood veneer by Studio Calico??  I doodle the side of the photos to frame them.

The journalling cards are just the perfect size for just photos and journalling. You do not need to add a lot of  embellishments to jazz them up.

I added tiny polymer clay shapes to this page. Love the polymer clay fruits!!! My friend helped me to get these polymer clay candies that you can cut to your desired size.

More polymer clay shapes here. Love the strawberries!!

My brother and "soon to be" future sister-in-law!! (Brother, can you sense the "hinting"?? ha ha)

I love this photo!! My youngest brother, Austin came up with the funniest scene!!! "Illegal hawkers" in Botanic Garden!!!! He prepared the "props", the sunglasses, the fan and the towel!!! So cute!!

My lovely sister who brought the 3 fans to the picnic!!! Hence the "Fan Queen"!!! Wa ha ha ha...

Another funny photo of my brother, nephew and my daughter (in the background). Seems like the "boys" in my family have the "funny and mischievous" traits!!!

An example of the tags inside the pockets. I used the "Smash" tape for this and also doodle the frames.

I hope you are inspired by this project. Do hop over to Frosted Designs to join in the challenge. And also scroll down to my previous post to join in My Little Shoebox and Unity Stamp Co Blog Hop. Have a fun weekend.

Thanks for dropping by.

My Little Shoebox and Unity Hip Hop

Hi, friends. Welcome to My Little Shoebox and Unity Stamp Co blog hop. We are pleased to share our new Co-Branded stamps with Unity Stamp Co. Make sure to leave a comment on each blog to win one of the fabulous prizes from Unity Stamp Co and My Little Shoebox. Winners will be chosen at random from the participating blogs.

Now I want to share a project that I made using one of the Unity/MLS stamps.

"Trees" Wrist Cuff

I love trees and is always very fascinated with them. Its amazing how each tree looks different from one another. And I love looking at them whenever I'm stressed out!! So when I got this stamp with row of trees, I thought, "why not make a wrist cuff with them so I can look at them whenever I want to."

For this wrist cuff, I stamped the image unto muslin cloth, coloured and drew the circles with Faber Castell Big Brush and Pitt Artist Pens. Then I hand sewed My Little Shoebox trim (Vintage Shop - Island Breeze trim pack) along the edges, added a button and a elastic band.

I loved this stamp. Each tree different from one another, just as they are. So I added different colours to them. I hope you like my project.

Now its time to hop over to Stephanie Muzzulin's blog. If you miss any blogs along the way, you can always go back to My Little Shoebox for the full list. Have a fun blog hop!!

Thanks for visiting.

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge - Office Supplies

Hi, everyone. How's your week again?? I know I ask this question every time. Ha ha.. Oh, by the way, want to mention something. Thank you all for visiting my blog and leaving beautiful comments. Sorry that I'm unable to reply each and every one even though I wanted to do so. Too busy with being a wife, mum, daughter, crafter, blogger (hmmm... me consider as this??), "designer", teacher (to my kids) and maid (to my kids too, ha ha). Plus had quite a trying month. Very stressed out and overworked this month. Wanted to have a good rest next month. :)

Ok. Enough rambling about me. This week at Frosted Designs, we are challenging you to use office or school supplies in your projects. And I made a "Junk Journal"!!! It's my first "Junk Journal" and I love it!!! Thanks to my scrappy friend, Daolin who organised a junk journal swap and introduce this new addiction to us!!!

I made this "Junk Journal" with recycled, used envelope (that was sent to me,hence got my name there) as the cover of the album. Inside are paper scraps, product packagings, old notecards that I bought many years ago (Egypt themed). Made "pockets" for "junk tags" too!!! For the office/school supplies, I used paper clips of different sizes and designs, staplers, book rings.

I loved, loved the front cover. I cut a cardboard envelope into half as front and back covers. They double as pockets for more junk tags. The denim (belt area) was cut out from my old jeans that I can't fit in anymore (yap, I've put on weight!!!!). It looks gorgeous (to me) and also doubles as a holder to clip my pen (just like a smash journal). Woo hooo!!!! No more missing pen whenever I want to journal!! I made the flower using corrugated board(another "junk"). The burlap is leftover from previous projects.

I loved this second page too!!! Made a pocket for more journalling tags. I recycled the Prima packaging to make into tags. They are so lovely!!! The Webster's Page (small piece with some words) scrap is just perfect as it says "its a beautiful life" (only know how to read the bottom part, ha ha).

Here you can see the Egypt themed notecards!!! I'm abit crazy over Egypt since secondary school times and still is till now!!! I want to go Egypt one day to travel around this mysterious, gorgeous land!!! So I got a craze of collecting Egypt related stuff!!! These notecards open up to more space for journalling!!!

More Prima product packaging!!! I loved them as they are too pretty and it's such a waste to throw them away!! Now I found a better use for them: as mini clipboard. Here I clip a small transparent tag with  a teal paper clips. The denim piece from my jeans is also used to tie the tag!!

I made a translucent pocket with this recycled glassine gift bag for bigger tags.

In this picture, I used pages torn out from second hand novel (that I used as my art journal) as the background page for more journalling or photos (??). More Prima product packaging here too.

For this last page, I also made pocket from paper scraps and Prima product packaging tags again. I used paper clips to prevent the tags in the envelope "pocket" from falling out.

For this back cover, I used the label cut out from my jeans (same one) as the "label" of my journal!!! Love the old, tattered, worn out look of it. It added a softer and vintage look to this "Junk Journal". Loved, loved my journal!!!!

I hope you feel excited to make your own "Junk Journal" after seeing mine!!! So, go try it out. It's very addictive and satisfying (especially when you are using up your scraps)!! And do join in our challenge at Frosted Designs. Thank you for your time in reading this long post!!!

Have fun creating!!!
